Municipality

Sigulda  District Municipality is made of council (composed of 11 people) elected by inhabitants and department, which is led by chairman, its deputy and executive director. Every inhabitant of the region can visit council meetings which are held twice a month.

109 people were employed in structural units of Sigulda District Municipality in 2005.

Sigulda District Municipality has self-dependent committees which are formed of deputies of the council. Council has formed committees to ensure the operation of the Council and process questions for discussion in Council meetings:

• Education and culture committee
• Tourism and sports committee
• Social care committee
• Development and environmental committee
